Led by Bristol Bay Tribes and communities, thousands of Americans have recognized that the Bristol Bay region is too special to be risked by mining. While EPA stopped the proposed Pebble Mine in January 2023, our work isn’t done until we have secured permanent protections for the entire watershed through legislative action.

The first step in this process for permanent protections is passing the Bristol Bay Protection Act, introduced in May 2024 by Alaska Representative Mary Peltola, that would codify EPA’s veto against Pebble Mine. Join us in showing your support for this effort.
